You are viewing a vintage CEF WWI era 228th battalion cap badge. This badge is made of browning copper. The lugs are the early flat style, and are in perfect usable condition. The badge itself is an excellent example and displays well in collection.

This battalion came from the Northern Ontario area. Headquarters in North Bay. Formed during the summer of 1916, the 228thsailed for England on Feb 16th, 1917. This battalion, composed of 756 otherranks and 31 officers (787 members) , became part of the battalions already fihting in France as the 6th Battalion, Canadian Railway troops
