Now this is an interesting find. It is a special button, patented, in fact. It opens up like a locket, and small items like compasses were kept inside for emergency use. These are often talked about but rarely seen. In this particular one, when opened was found a 1943 dated penny which was redesigned by a previous owner. Indeed a rare find in WWII buttons.
