Below are the scans of this Victorian era 68th Durham Regiment Cap Badge. This regiment was established in 1758. Made up from members of the 2/23 Regiment a foot. In 1782 it was renamed 1st Battalion 68th Regiment a foot. And in 1808 was renamed 1st Battalion 68th Durham Light Infantry, and as did many regiments in 1881 it was converted to the 1st Durham Light Infantry. Was part of the regular British Army, not militia.
