Above are the scans for a rare pre WWI era Sherwood Foresters Lt-Col Mess Dress Uniform. This uniform includes the scarlet tunic with a dark infantry green collar, a scarlet vest with an interesting row of small false brass buttons, with inside clips for closing, and black pants with red stripe and the remnants of leather tie down straps at the ankles. It is in very good condition for its age, with some minor staining and mothing, on the pants. View scans. Comes with its silver Victoria crown collar badges, as well as all buttons, and rank insignia; all in good order as found. About size 38/40 chest. Nicely lined with scarlet and white quilting. The vest has some nice gold piping designs.
