Some History: This battalion was raised by the people of the city of Calgary, Alberta in 1915. After their basic training, the volunteers sailed for England on March 20th 1916. Upon their arrival they were to become part of the 9th Canadian Reserve Battalion, supplying reinforcements to the front lines. .
