Above, you may view the scans of this WW2 Three River Regiment Cap Badge, an O/R bi-metal composition. In excellent condition with both original lugs intact.This regiment known at the beginning of WW2 as "le Régiment de Trois-Rivières".
This regiment, a tank unit, was reorganized and fought as an English-speaking unit (the Three Rivers Regiment). Many French-speaking soldiers were sidetracked in this process. One of the most famous was Jean-Victor Allard who demanded a transfer from the Three Rivers Regiment to the Infantry. As you may know he became Chief of Defense Staff, during the Cold War of the 1960's.
