Above are the scans for an excellent rendering of a WWI era 158th Battalion CEF cap badge or sweetheart badge. Made of brass and still retaining its crisp design features. It is a large badge and may be an officer grade cap badge, or perhaps a larger type sweetheart badge. Has its original cross pin in good usable condition.
The 158th (Duke of Connaught's Own) Battalion, CEF was a unit in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the unit began recruiting in late 1915 in that city. They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.
