The Lincoln & Welland regiment originates from the Niagara area of Ontario. Mobilized in 1939 at the start of the WW2, the
Lincolns served in Ontario doing anti-espionage on the Welland canal system. They moved to Nanaimo B.C. in 1941 and served as a defense unit on Vancouver Island. They also served with the
Canadian Contingent in NFLD. Their real test came with the Canadian 4th Division in Normandy, landing on July 25th, 1944. The Lincoln's battle honors include Falaise, the Sheldt, The Rineland,
Hochwold, and Twente Canal, as well as numerous others up to the end of the War in 1945.
